Three Honest Home Security Packages
Essential — From $3,500
Ajax wireless alarm panel, 4 motion sensors, 2 door contacts, 1 external siren, smartphone app and self-monitoring. The right starting point for units, townhouses and smaller homes that want proper alarm coverage without monitoring fees.
Family — From $8,500
Everything in Essential, plus a 4-camera Dahua or Uniview AI-CCTV system with cloud and local recording, video doorbell, smart lock on the front door, and 24/7 professional Grade A1 monitoring for the alarm. The most common package for Sunshine Coast family homes.
Estate — From $18,500
Everything in Family, plus 8-12 AI-CCTV cameras with vehicle and person analytics, Akuvox video intercom for gates and front door, smart locks on all exterior doors, perimeter beams, monitored Grade A1 service, and full integration with your smart home lighting and shading. Ideal for acreage and architectural homes.
Custom Build
Sometimes the home does not fit a tier. We will build a quote against your floor plan and your concerns - which doors worry you, which sightlines, which entry points, what you want on your phone vs what the monitoring centre handles. Same brands, same install standard.

How much do home security packages cost on the Sunshine Coast?
Our Essential package starts at $3,500 (alarm only, smaller homes). Family runs from $8,500 (alarm + 4 cameras + smart lock + monitored). Estate is from $18,500 (full integration, 8-12 cameras, intercom, perimeter detection). Custom builds are quoted against your floor plan. All prices are fixed before work starts.
Do I have to take the monitoring service?
No. Monitoring is optional on every package. The hardware is yours either way - you can self-monitor through the app, or activate professional monitoring later if you want a real person responding to alarms. Monitoring is around $1.10 to $1.50 per day, contract-free.
What is the difference between Essential, Family and Estate?
Essential is alarm only - sensors, app, siren, no cameras. Family adds CCTV, video doorbell, smart lock and monitoring. Estate adds Akuvox intercom, perimeter detection, more cameras with AI analytics, and full smart-home integration. Most family homes fit Family; acreage and architectural homes fit Estate.
Can I start with Essential and upgrade later?
Yes - that is exactly how the packages are designed. The Ajax alarm hub, the cabling pathways and the comms cabinet are all sized to take more cameras, more sensors and an intercom later without ripping anything out. Most clients add over 2-5 years.
Is Ajax better than Bosch or other Australian alarms?
For wireless alarms - yes, comfortably. Ajax has 7-year sensor batteries, two-way encrypted communication, near-zero false alarms and the best smartphone app on the market. Bosch and DSC are still excellent for hardwired commercial-grade installs - we install both depending on the brief.
What CCTV brand do you install?
Dahua and Uniview AI-driven cameras as our default - 4MP/8MP, person/vehicle analytics, colour-at-night, local NVR plus optional cloud backup. We are not tied to either brand and will recommend based on the home, the budget and the lighting conditions.
Will the cameras keep working in a power cut?
The alarm hub has a battery backup of 12-16 hours. Cameras and NVR sit on a UPS battery backup we install with every Family and Estate package, giving 4-8 hours of recording during a power cut. The system also alerts you on your phone the moment the power drops.
Do you install for body corporate / strata properties?
Yes - we install bundled security for body corporate and strata across the Sunshine Coast. Common areas, garage cameras, intercom panels and access control. We coordinate with the body corporate manager and follow strata-compliant install standards.
Can the security system trigger smart home lights?
Yes - one of the main reasons to bundle. A triggered alarm can flash the house lights, open the blinds, announce on the speakers and send a video clip to your phone. This kind of integration is only possible because the same team installs the alarm and the smart home electrical.
